Daniel House was born in 1829 in Dereham, Oxford, Ontario, Canada.
His parents are James J. House and Tryphena Malcolm.
He married Catherine Snell on 13 October 1853 in Brock District, Ontario, Canada.
Their children are: Jacob, Marey Ellen, Adelbert, Ida May, Albert Jeremiah and James Milton Howse.
Records of Buell Township note he was the first Treasurer of the Township although he hadn't been in America long and it caused quite a controversy by his opponent so they had another election and he won again!
Daniel moved up to Corwith Township, Otsego County, Michigan where he died of Dropsy on 10 October 1895. He is buried in the Evergreen Hills Cemetery, Vanderbilt, Otsego, Michigan.

Finley House...is the son of James J. and Triphena (Malcolm) House...The family included eight sons and four daughters, as follows: Daniel, Joseph (died from the results of hardship in the army); Peter (died while in the army); Lemuel; Jeremiah (died in the army); Chauncey, John (died at the age of six years); Maria (deceased); Nancy, Rebecca, and Almira (deceased)...The family came to Sanilac County, Feb. 1, 1862 where Mr. House located 160 acres of land in Buel Township.
