Mary (Budek) Ringlein, 63, of Okemos died Aug. 28, 2002, at her home surrounded by all of her children.
Mary was born Feb. 12, 1939, in Burgess, Mich. She grew up in Petoskey and attended St. Francis Xavier School.
She resided in Flint for 33 years, where she was employed as an X-ray technician and for the city of Flint, Water Department, retiring to Okemos in 1994.
Mary enjoyed genealogy, photography, sewing and writing. She was a member of the Mid-Michigan Genealogical Society, Friends of the Okemos Library, the Meridian Senior Center and was a Sparrow Hospital volunteer. She was also a special volunteer to the Flint Community Players.
Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Jennie Bertoni, and a brother, Henry Budek.
Surviving are her children, Julie Ringlein of Davison, David of Lansing, Laura (Kurt) Hines of Hillman, John (Cindy) of Naperville, Ill., Regina (Craig) Skiera of Okemos, Jamie (Scott) Carrick of Farmington Hills, Barbara Ringlein of Ann Arbor, and Linda Ringlein of Berkley; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Maren, Kevin, Amanda, Lucas, Noah and Isaac; sisters, Lottie (George) Schmalzried of Pennsylvania, Julie (Joseph) Gulish of Flint, and Cecilia (James) Donegan of Saline; brothers, John (Sharon) Budek of Petoskey, Joseph Budek of Brooklyn, and Alex (Lola) Budek of Maine; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no services. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Co., East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, from 4-8 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 30, and from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, to pause and share memories to celebrate Mary's life. Those desiring may make contributions to the charity of choice in memory of Mary Ringlein.
