Services for Roy B Aler, 87, will be held at 2pm, Monday from the Gillian-Erwin Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Philip Brown of the United Methodist Church will officate and interment will be in the Island View Cemetery. Masonic services will be under the auspices of lodge 378 F & AM of Harbor Springs.
Mr. Aler died at the Beverly Manor Convalescent Center in Petoskey.
He was born Dec 30, 1887 in Paris, Michigan and had moved to Harbor Springs in 1912.
He was a mail carrier in Harbor Springs from 1912 until he retired in 1953.
On May 20, 1943 he married Lois Garver in Petoskey and they made their home in Harbor Springs.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Francis of Mahwah, NJ; one daughter, Mrs. Irene Organ of Sandusky OH, a step-son, James Snively of Harbor Springs, a step-daughter, Mrs. Janice Fosdick of Gaylord; 12 grandchildren; 4 g-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Dora Burch of Alberdeen, WA.
