Walter Howe Rites Set

CHARLEVOIX - Funeral services for Walter G. Howe, 73, who died Sunday at his Charlevoix Twp. home, will be held from St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Rev. Father E. Francis Denay will officiate and intrment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Winchester Funeral Home where friends may call.

He was born in Hayes Twp., Charlevoix county on July 18, 1899 and had always lived in this area. Until he retired he had been caretaker for summer residents. He was a member of St. Mary's Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Rose McSawby Tokolo, whom he married in January 1954, at Elk Rapids; four sons by a former marriage,twins, Loren Howe, of Elkhart, Ind. and Lorence Howe, of Edwardsburg, Mich., Howard Howe, also of Edwardsburg and Eugene of South Bend, Ind., four step-daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Kathryn) Genia, Mrs. Calvin (Lillian) Peters and Mrs. Martina Lewis, all of Charlevoix and Mrs. Cornelius (Dorothy) Dyer, of Detroit; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Leo Allard, of Charlevoix and Mrs. Clinton Groth, of LaCanada, Calif.
